10 Stupid Drivers Caught on Tape in the Snow
Snow storms are reminiscent of hot chocolate, snowball fights, school closings, and horrific drivers. It is as if the sight of a snowflake causes individuals to throw judgment out of the window and forget everything they learned in Driver’s Ed. Though snow is typically a yearly occurrence, some people apparently experience fresh panic and lose their grasp on common sense each time they hit the slippery road. It is essential to have good car insurance, especially in the winter, to protect yourself from these cold weather menaces. Here are 10 stupid drivers caught on tape in the snow.
- Too Busy to Wait for the Plow: There is a reason why people shovel their cars out of the snow. There is also a reason why snow plows clear the streets. This driver decided that they didn’t want to wait until there was a free path. Instead, they thought they would drive over the snow heaps. Obviously it doesn’t work and it is likely that they will be digging their car out for hours.
- Slip and Slide: One car after another slides and spins down a hill, crashing into parked vehicles. The first car was bad enough but the truly stupid drivers were the cars that followed. If you see the chaos that ensues when driving down that street, avoid the street! Yet by following the leader, these drivers were able contribute to a hilarious video.
- Serious Pileup: Drivers had serious issues handling this icy stretch of road. Slamming on the brakes only made things worse, causing several cars to spin out of control. Other drivers were going a little too fast for the icy conditions. While this video featured some poor driving skills, notice a few of those slick drivers who managed to avoid the pile-up.
- Schools Bus Mishap: While the other drivers seem to have no problem navigating the slick road, this bus driver cannot get control of the bus. Parents were probably less than thrilled when this video hit the internet. Learning to drive in the snow seems like a standard requirement for hauling children around.
- Ski Resort Nightmare: While heading down a huge drop, this bus carrying visitors at a ski resort skidded out of control. Instead of stopping while he or she was ahead, this bus driver attempted to carry on, probably frightening all of the passengers.
- Uphill Battle: No matter how hard this driver tries, the wheels keep spinning but the vehicle goes nowhere. The driver is frantic and continues to floor it though there is no momentum. The driver stuck behind her eventually gives up and leaves.
- Close Call: Passing trucks on a small two-lane road with oncoming traffic whizzing by isn’t the smartest idea in the snow. While this driver succeeded, they just barely missed crashing into the oncoming bus. They got lucky this time but this is definitely not an example of solid judgment.
- Brush With the Law: This driver filmed their crash into a police car with a dashboard camera. Speeding is never a smooth move in icy weather, particularly when it results in colliding with an officer of the law.
- Fair Warning: Though a sign warned drivers that the hill was icy, they continued to drive on the road causing a slew of collisions. Several of the drivers fall prey to the age-old mistake of slamming on the brakes, which just causes their cars to spin on the ice. Hopefully all involved have ample car insurance coverage.
- Typical Snow Driving: The few minutes captured on camera show the typical stupid drivers attempting to handle the snow. They all appear to be paralyzed with fear, no one knows exactly what to do or where to go, multiple vehicles get stuck in the snow, and very little progress is made. The whole melee results in a standoff between a semi truck and a small car. It’s doubtful that the situation was resolved in a timely manner.
